This book deals with one of the most important Kabbalistic mystical movements in the history, namely the Sabbatean movement, which gathered most of the Kabbalistic doctrines and melted them into one crucible with the aim of proving the Messianic nature of Sabbatai Zevi (????????? ?????). Sabbatean Kabbalah was influenced by theosophical-theurgical Kabbalah or theoretical Kabbalah, whether that of Ha'ari (???"? )or those of Ramak (????). In 1683, seven years after the death of Sabbatai Zevi, about 300 Jewish families in Thessaloniki converted to Islam, led by Yosef Philosoph (???? ???????). These families, together with the converts to Islam from the time of Sabbatai Zevi, formed the nucleus of the Donme (????????) sect, which continued to exist secretly, often practicing a dual identity as Jews and Muslims. Shabtai Zevi's wife, whose beauty and charm played a prominent role in attracting new followers to the movement.
